Being a disciple of Jesus has always been synonymous with being a Christian. From the Scriptures and from his own experience, biblical scholar Dr. Timothy Gray explains how Christian discipleship calls us to follow in the footsteps of Christ as engaged participants in God's plan, ordering our lives to bear witness to the Lord in our families, workplaces, communities, and to the world.

As a young adult, Jeff Cavins left the Catholic Church and became a Protestant Pastor for 12 years. After returning to the Catholic Church, Jeff became a nationally known speaker who has helped hundreds of thousands come to a clearer understanding of Scripture and our Faith. In this presentation, Jeff explains the meaning of shame and teaches us how to engage the struggles of the heart.
The talk helped me deal with shame that I've been carrying around with me for a long time. My eyes have been opened to Gods forgiveness, this talk also helped me see that sometimes its easy to get caught-up in passing judgment on others, when we should be praying for people instead. | Feb 2013 | Winning the Culture WarWinning the Culture War
To win any war, there are three things that you must know: that you are at war, who your enemy is, and what weapons or strategies can defeat him. Acknowledging that our culture is clearly in crisis, Dr. Peter Kreeft shows us that the only weapon strong enough to defeat the demons of this age is saints. Above all, Dr. Kreeft assures us that victory is assured for those who hope in Christ, because good always triumphs over evil.
Dr. Kreeft details in a very understanble way the fundamental truths of Catholicism using reason and common sense. Don-LA |

| Jan 2013 | Pray Like a SaintPray Like a Saint
In this talk, internationally known speaker and author Matthew Leonard defines and discusses the three traditional stages of prayer. According to scripture, every one of us is called to "be perfect" and to "pray without ceasing." Prayer is the path to God and we've been saying prayers all our lives. But are we really praying? Matthew lays out the practical steps to achieve union with God through deep prayer, even in the midst of this busy world.
JMJ. The Year of Evangelization plays a big part in this response. I have felt the Holy Spirit urging me every step of the way. Following my husband's death in 2007, I prayed for direction and in 2009, God connected me with a seminarian at Mundelein from Africa, and many others since then. Now young men discerning and seminarians are two of my primary efforts. What a gift God gave to me! I enjoyed the talks immensely. They are helping me with my prayer life, relationships, etc. To me, the talk by Fr. Masters is probably the greatest love story I have ever heard. I recently ordered 100 of them to give to others. May peace be with you and yours! Marie - KS |

| Sep 2012 | In God We Trust: Religious Liberty - Your First Amendment RightIn God We Trust: Religious Liberty - Your First Amendment Right
During these challenging times there is a critical need to focus on defending our religious liberty as stated in the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. In these highly informative presentations, Bishop David Malloy and Monsignor Eric Barr show us that protection of religious freedom is fundamental for Catholics, as well as for people of all faiths. This CD also includes a brief presentation by Timothy Cardinal Dolan on faithful citizenship.
Bishop Malloy's speach as his is new for us and this really showed who he is and what he stands for. Monsignor Barr's talk really showed us that this fight is not something new. It will help us learn and see the symptoms of spiritual erosion to our faith by our govenment. Lee - Sugar Grove, IL |

| Jul 2012 | Answering AtheismAnswering Atheism
How can we evangelize an unbelieving world? In this talk, Ken Hensley uses simple, effective logic to show how the atheistic worldview inevitably leads to contradictions that can’t hold up to sound reasoning. After hearing this talk, you will be empowered to conclusively demonstrate how unbelief leads to the destruction of morality, meaning, and even knowledge.
It gave me the first practical reasons for answering unbelief. I also am going to suggest that we use it as a topic in the Legend of Mary "Patrician" group. This talk is practical. It is for everyone-beginners and masters in the
spiritual life. We all know that growth in holiness is largely about
growing in trust in our Lord Jesus Christ. But how does one do that
realistically?
In this talk, Bismarck Diocese Vocations Director Fr. Tom Richter will describe in concrete terms what the interior act of trust looks like, and what we must choose in order to grow in trust. This talk helped me to realize in concrete terms how and what it looks like to put my trust in Jesus alone, and that I cannot be in control, and that I am totally dependent on God, and that He is all that I want to beg God the Father for. In this informative talk, Dr. Scott Hahn explores some of the most
important beliefs that distinguish Christianity from Islam. He explains
that while both religions trace themselves back to Abraham, the
differences, including our understanding of God as Father, are not
insignificant. With charity, balance, and candor, Dr. Hahn shows us how
Islam presents the most formidable challenge to Christianity in the
Third millennium.
I enjoyed the way that the issue was stressed. Dr. Hahn elaborated the point that for us Catholics, God is Father, Abba. This gave me a great appreciation for this in front of not just Islam, but in front of mere spirituality or atheism. It was also very beneficial to hear the bonus segment from Robert Spencer. | Apr 2012 | From Love, By Love, For LoveFrom Love, By Love, For Love
Presented by Lighthouse Catholic Youth: Father Michael Schmitz tackles some of the most difficult topics in the Church today. With compassion, clarity, and humor, he shows that the Church's teachings on contraception and same-sex attraction are rooted in the yearnings for authentic love that is shared by all, who are made in the image and likeness of God.
The safest place for a gay person (someone with homosexual tendencies) should be in the Catholic Church. This establishes both that (1) all forms of discrimination against gay people are anti-Catholic; and (2) the Catholic Church isn't withholding anything that is good and natural for a gay person. Fr. Barron illuminates with conviction that Jesus of Nazareth is the promised Messiah and revelation of God become man. He shows how Jesus fulfills the four tasks of the Messiah according to the Old and New Testaments and how the living legacy of Christ is proclaimed by the Church.
I love to hear Fr. Barron speak about the Catholic Church and the life of Jesus. I first saw him on EWTN and have become a huge fan. I learn so much from Fr. Barron - his insights into the life and Gospel of Jesus are very interesting and inspirational. I wish everyone could hear what he teaches because they would understand the life and teaching of Jesus so much better than from reading a book. Fr. Barron has a way of tying all things together in the life of Jesus and in the life of the Catholic Church so as to enlighten and edify the listener. | Sep 2010 | How to Get the Most Out of MassHow to Get the Most Out of Mass
Dr. Scott Hahn takes us through the awesome grandeur of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, from the entrance song to the dismissal. With great clarity, he takes us through a basic outline of the structure of the Mass, explaining how the Sacred Liturgy transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary and the earthly into the heavenly. A must-have for every Catholic and non-Catholic who wants to know what the Mass is all about.
Dr. Hahn's reflection of his visit to Northern Ireland and the stone altars that were used in secret by Catholics to celebrate Mass. There was one stone altar that had a nick from a bullet which had killed the priest while he was shielding the Eucharist. We very often overlook or ignore the sacrificial self-offering love from those who gave their lives in their faith journey with God. In our own Church, we need to be more vocal and spirited in our beliefs when we say the "Great Amen", as we have just celebrated and witnessed the re-enactment of Jesus' sacrifice for us. Dr. Hahn's discussion helped me gain a better perspective of how I should be more prayerful at this point in the Mass and appreciative as to why we "do" this in remembrance of Jesus. Barron uses Dante's DIVINE COMEDY to expose these sinful patterns in our lives and show how they are effectively counteracted by the cultivation of virtue through the development of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. This fascinating journey shows the path that God has designed to lead us to health, happiness and holiness.
Fr. Robert Barron is an excellent and dynamic speaker. We used this CD in our men's fellowship group as a guide, and we researched and studied each deadly sin separately. Though St. Philomena lived approximately 1700 years ago and was only discovered in the catacombs of Rome in the early 1800's, her faithful witness as a young virgin who was martyred for her purity and for her fidelity to Christ speaks powerfully to our culture, and especially to young people. Commonly referred to as a "wonder worker", she has the distinction of being the only saint canonized solely on the basis of the profound miracles attributed to her intercession. Learn more about St. Philomena and what a powerful advocate we have before the throne of Almighty God.
I never knew so much good came from St. Philomena! I was thrilled to learn about Christ's little princess, and doubly thrilled to learn more about St. John Vianney, one of my favorite saints of all time. Dr. Michael Barber, professor of Theology and Scripture at John Paul The Great Catholic University, and Chase Hilgenbrinck, seminarian and former professional soccer player, share rich insights about this vocation to which select men are called by God to serve Christ and the Church.
Dr. Michael Barber gave a beautiful presentation on the everlasting purpose of the priesthood... in such a way that you could not listen and not come away with a profound appreciation of the priests that serve so selflessly in our parishes. I loved the way he indicated they were consumed with love, and isn't that the mission of Christ? The sacramental mission of the priest, and how he relates to the people in his parish, was so rich. I also love the part on Blessed Newman. Thanks! Maureen - Wyoming, PA |
