Order today for special early bird pricing!

St. Teresa of Calcutta was a woman known and loved for her tender work among the poorest of the poor. Behind her drive and desire to serve Christ’s poor was a profound understanding of the thirst of God for man, and man’s thirst for God. This guided meditation on Scripture and the teaching of Mother Teresa will lead those who read it into the heart of the mystery of God’s thirst for souls, and how man can meet the Lord’s thirst. Fr. Joseph Langford, an intimate friend of Mother Teresa’s and a co-founder with her of the Missionary of Charity Fathers, leads the reader into Mother Teresa’s love of God, and helps foster the love of God in the heart of the reader.

Divided into seven main sections, these meditations will provoke prayer on:

– The Dynamics of Thirst

– Prayer as Thirst

– Our Lady’s Example in Meeting God’s Thirst

– Thirst in the Service of God

– Sharing in the Thirst of Christ

– Jesus as the Incarnation of God’s Thirst

– Satiated Thirst

I Thirst provides an opportunity to spend a few minutes every day with Mother Teresa and the thirst of our Lord. It provides an opportunity to grow in intimacy, and to meet the thirst of God with our own thirst for him.

View Book Sample

Flowing forth from the Heart of Jesus is a torrent of mercy that is the source of much needed hope for our world. Discover how in God’s mercy we find a reason for joy here on earth and a reasonable expectation for eternal joy in Heaven. Mike Pacer’s engaging and straightforward approach sheds light on the following:

 • The merciful and loving God revealed in the Old Testament
 • Jesus Christ as the source of mercy and reason for hope
 • The hope imparted through the message of Divine Mercy given to St. Faustina
 • Mary’s role as the Mother of Mercy and Hope

Hope is not merely a feeling, but also an action through which our lives are transformed. Mike provides practical suggestions on how we can live more joyful lives through being merciful to others and receiving mercy ourselves.

Praise for Mercy and Hope

“In this book, Mike Pacer offers a loving, heartfelt account of the hope he’s found in Divine Mercy. Through his personal reflections on Scripture, St. Faustina’s writings, and the theological virtues, he offers fresh insights into the hope-filled mystery of God's merciful love.”

– Fr. Michael E. Gaitley, MIC, author of 33 Days to Morning Glory

“Mike has hit a home run with Mercy and Hope. It so clearly presents mercy for what, or better, who mercy is—Jesus. This truth is so beautifully presented throughout the book that one can literally touch and be touched by Jesus.”

– Most Rev. David D. Kagan, Bishop of Bismarck

Well-known author, psychologist, and priest Fr. Benedict Groeschel draws on his own years of personal experiences in dealing with people’s problems, tragedies, and “darkness” as he offers help and guidance for any Christian troubled or burdened by life. If you are struggling with fear, anxiety, grief, loss of loved ones, hurt, anger, or anything that makes life difficult or the road through it dark, then this book was written for you. Fr. Benedict offers practical suggestions on how to keep going and even grow more with the help of God’s grace, even when this help seems remote.

The Christian response to the problem of evil and suffering began with the cross of Christ. Our answer is inseparable from the cross—from Jesus’ own encounter with evil and his triumph over it. In this light, Fr. Benedict recalls some of our most frequently encountered sorrows and griefs: the failure of friends, financial and personal insecurity, the failure of some in the Church, our own inconsistent behaviors and weaknesses, and the death of loved ones. As we examine these painful experiences, he shows that we can find solutions in the Gospel and in the lives of saints, heroes, and very brave ordinary people.

About the Author:

Fr. Benedict Groeschel, C.F.R., was the director of the Office of Spiritual Development for the New York Archdiocese. He wrote numerous books on the spiritual life and pastoral counseling. He was a member of the Franciscans of the Renewal who preach evangelical reform and work with the homeless in the South Bronx.

Praise for Arise from Darkness:

“Just the kind of wise guidance we have come to expect from Father Groeschel. It is clear, simple, compassionate, personal, practical, Christ-centered, and full of Gospel quotes that come alive in Groeschel’s hands.”
– Peter Kreeft, Author of Making Sense Out of Suffering

Fr. Groeschel offers rich wisdom . . . and a great deal for us all to learn. He superbly teaches us how to pray in times of trouble. A book to be thankful for.
– J.I. Packer, Author of Knowing God

“This sensitive and profound book may become the book that can help you most in your own sufferings or that you can give to others when your own words fail.”
– Ronda Chervin, Ph.D.
