English Translation:

“Be perfect, as the Heavenly Father is perfect” (Mt 5:48) is an echo of the petition that Leviticus made to the Jewish people in antiquity: “Be saints, for I Yahweh, your God, am a holy God” (Lev 11:44-45).

When Jesus or Sacred Scripture invites to strive toward the perfection of holiness of our God who has created us in his image and likeness (Gen 1:26), this thought immediately comes to mind: is this possible? Isn’t that kind of holiness out of reach for an average person?

Holiness is one of the ways in which the God of the Old Testament showed himself to his people. Although Israel always interpreted it as an estrangement, in Jesus it is rather the way by which God transforms us into creatures/beings similar to his son.

The Church is holy because its founder, Christ, is holy and because the Holy Spirit, his guide and supporter, is holy. Christians are called to this meekness to the Holy Spirit to show the world the presence of the Lord who gives the sanctifying Spirit.

And who has been docile to that plan in communion with Jesus and faithful to the Holy Spirit? Mary, always faithful and docile to God. Father Ernesto Maria Caro makes a journey in this process by which Mary was always Full of Grace, who said yes to the Lord, the first who did “all that Jesus said” (Jn 2:5).

Message of Guadalupe - Booklet

Message of Guadalupe - Booklet

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Queen of Mexico, Mother of the Americas and Protectress of the Unborn Child. Why, in 1531, did Our Lady appear to an illiterate Mexican worker, Juan Diego? How can interest and devotion to her today be so widespread? Our Lady appeared as an Indian girl, speaking Juan Diego’s own native language, and offered her help to the oppressed and largely pagan people from which he came. The miraculous image, which appeared as a result on Diego’s clothing, can still be seen in Mexico today. This booklet tells the story, and the message Guadalupe has for the modern world. Gillian Rae eloquently shows how Mary’s ‘missionary image’ spans the centuries to combat today’s ‘culture of death.’
