Being All In

Eric Mahl

Eric Mahl grew up in the small town of Monroeville, Ohio where he was a standout athlete. He earned a scholarship to play division one football at Kent State University and, in 2005, was signed by the Cleveland Browns. After leaving the NFL, he spent three years working in the world, where he continued his intensive focus on discerning his vocation. After this period of discernment, he sold or gave away all his belongings so as to fully give himself to the Lord and live out the message of Divine Mercy.

His journey eventually lead him to the shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts and Fr. Michael Gaitley. Eric now lives, works, and prays in service with Marian Missionaries of Divine Mercy.

This talk was recorded at a Catholic Athletes for Christ retreat for Professional Athletes.

Eric gives us a guide on how to be all in one will want to listen to it over and over. Idell - Grand Rapids, MI
I found the talk very insightful with regards to young people living out their faith in today's culture. I especially liked Eric's thoughts on revealing Jesus love to the homeless, including friends and family. Judy - Murrieta, CA

This powerful talk conveys "Divine Mercy" in Eric's life as well as spreading God's mercy to others. Daniel - Vancouver, British Columbia
Eric’s profound insight from his time on the streets: we feed, clothe, and house the poor – but we do not KNOW the poor. And what they crave most (as do we all) is loving relationship—that same connection that gives our lives meaning. Nancy - Union City, TN
The talk is simple and direct to the point. Catholicism is not boring, speakers are not boring, they are reaching out to the audience of this generation. Eric just enlightened me to be a simple human being. Humilty is the virtue that I am trying to improve right now and with all his accomplishment and popularity which was given up for the Lord and to serve more of the Lord rather than serving himself thats Character! More power Lighthouse Speakers! I will be a supporter till the end, and time for us Catholics to go out and be a disciple! God bless! Albert Patawaran Albert - mississauga, ON
Another awesome CD. What an inspiring story! I listened to this CD and the next month I received the Pope Francis CD. What an amazing 1-2 punch with both reinforcing the need to really encounter the poor. I have already listened to each several times. Thanks! Mark - Katy, TX
It amazes me how much at peace Eric is. His manner and voice reveal a man of great love, piety and humility. He is certainly transformed from the person he was on the football field. This is a wonderful talk that I have replayed many times. Dennis - Poysippi, WI
Eric Mahl gave up his stardom money and fame for Christ. This is extraordinary inspirational story of answering God's call. A true testimony of witnessing to Jesus Christ. Eric is an excellent role model for youth of all ages. Anne-marie - Longmont, CO
It was so interesting I couldn't stop listening ann - Peoria , IL
Inspiring especially for those with a toe in the water afraid to jump in. Here was someone who jumped in. The beuty of this talk was in opening my eyes to the needs of the people you see in the street. It's not what you give them materially, it's in affirming their dignity as a child of God, your brother and sisters in Christ. He did a great job in this. David - Roanoke, VA
