Love - Sacrifice - Trust: He Showed Us the Way

Fr. Michael Schmitz

Fr. Mike Schmitz shares important insights on the meaning of Christ’s Cross. He shows how God’s rescue mission for us includes the need for each person to embrace his own cross in order to reestablish trust in the Father and the understanding that love requires sacrifice. It also includes a bonus segment on Stations of the Cross, which features reflections on the Lord’s Passion and Death, accompanied by moving audio dramatizations from the Truth and Life Audio Bible.

Fr. Mike’s simple, yet powerful, reflections helped me to contemplate Christ’s passion in light of God’s perfect, fatherly love for me. Dennis – Batavia, IL
I was struck by the depth of this message for me personally, and how it deepened my relationship with God. Martha – Aiken, SC
I really benefited from the talk and am anxious to continue using the other talks to become closer to God this Lenten Season. Patricia - Royal Oak, MI
It helped me learn how to answer the accusation that Jews killed Christ, but that each one of us with our sins were in truth the cause of the deicide of our God. And that he allowed HIS cricification so that our salvation could be secured.. This was the fpgreatest gift He could give us to regain our relationship with Him taken away by our disobedience in the Garden of Eden. Salvation history began in a garden and ended in one. Such is the great love of our Father. Ann - Belton, TX
Well having listened to MANY of Father Schmitz's talks online I appreciate his humbleness and his true devotion to our Lord. It comes through as he speaks. He brings across "educating" us in our faith but he does it gently and with love not "talking down" to us or just stating facts for facts sake. He helps us to see that EVERYTHING Jesus did and continues to do is for a reason and that reason is each one of us. He lets us know that Jesus didn't die for all He died for each and every SINGLE one of us as if we were the ONLY one. He loves us as if we were the ONLY person in the World. Father Mike's talk "Love, Sacrifice, Trust-He Showed Us The Way" was worth the purchase price and more. I am passing this Cd and another one I purchased on to our Pastor as soon as I finish listening to the other Cd. THANK YOU for providing us with such wonderful lessons, such wonderful examples and TRUTH about Our Catholic Faith. God Bless each and every one of you for the work put into all the great Cd's and God Bless Father Mike Schmitz. OH also the Stations Of The Cross was beautiful and very nice to have added on to the Cd. Janice - LA
Fr. Schmitz had insights into the Genesis story of the Fall that I had never thought of before and his comments on the relationship between Abraham and Isaac really opened my eyes. He is an engaging speaker, as well as a great interpreter of Scripture. I have listed to it several times. It is just amazing. Daniel - Beverly, MA
Fr. Schmitz held my attention and helped me to consider Jesus' saving death in a new and complete way. Any suffering I have is nothing considering the agony Jesus endured for the love of us. The Stations of the Cross were dramatic and thought provoking. I plan to listen to both again, especially during Lent. Rita - Hideaway, TX
Comparison and contrast of the Garden of Eden and of Gethsemane was so enlightening. The concept of love and sacrifice really touches and moves the soul. The way Father Mike is able to weave in real life experiences makes it more approachable and real. It’s not academic but relatable. Celeste
I enjoined listening to Father Mike Schmidt! He broke it down to where I could easily understand what he was talking about and how it relates to our everyday life! He really put things into perspective and taught me something new that I look forward to learning more and hearing more from him!!! Eloy - Ganado, TX
I loved how Fr. spoke so I could understand. So often I listen to the talks and they seem to be above me. Fr. spoke from his heart and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to him. The Stations of the Cross were so beautifully done. Lisa - Richmond , IL
Fr. Michael know just how to open your mind and heart. Thanks for teaching me so much. When you showed how Joseph in Genesis was a prefigurement of Jesus, we were studying that very chapter in our bible study. Loved how timely it was for me :) Theresa - Hebron, KY
Elsie - bronx, NY
The three words go together and cannot have one without the other two. I deeply enjoyed the very moving part of the Sacrifice, especially the recitation of Psalm 88. I also liked the story of the talk with the young man and his father at the holocaust memorial / museum and how he related it with then story of Joseph and his brothers. Enrique - Jasper, GA
Very touching. I wish everyone in the world would listen to it! Jami - Williamsburg , VA
