Angels Explained: What You Should Know About the Nine Choirs

Angels Explained: What You Should Know About the Nine Choirs

Dr. Mark Miravalle - Professor of Theology and Mariology at Franciscan University of Steubenville - teaches on the fascinating subject of Angels. Why did God create angels? How are they different from humans? Are guardian angels found in Scripture? Discover the answer to these questions and many more as Dr. Mark Miravalle explains the nine choirs of angels, their differing roles and hierarchical order, and how much angels can help us if we only ask.

I liked the very concise & detailed explanation of how the angel studies were done by the Church, the history of the angels, all the different types of angels & their duties (good & bad), the hierarchies, tying info to scripture & tradition, the importance of talking/praying to our guardian angel daily, invoking the angels, going to Adoration, etc. Everyone likes angels, but I didn't realize there was so much info, & how to join the good side to fight the fallen angels! "If you only listen to one CD this year, listen to 'Relativism' by Chris Stefanick!" - Matthew Kelly

This is always an uncomfortable topic to discuss with friends and family, and it is certainly the underpinning issue with almost all moral evils of our day! Chris gave me concrete and charitable ways to challenge this mode of thinking. Elliot - IL

"Fr. Spitzer gives us proofs not only of the existence of God, but of a divinely designed universe." Aaron - Palm Bay, FL
"Fr. Spitzer explains very difficult scientific data in understandable terms." Julie - Sterling, VA
It showed me that the big bang is plausible and that if it were absolutely proven it would only further prove God's existence! It only males the proof that He exists even stronger! Carol - Friendswood, TX
A very worthy topic, and I had hoped to find something to use in discussions with unbelievers. Karen - Saint Charles, MO
Being Christian, I never investigated the Big Bang Theory or understood completely what the "beginning of the universe" truly meant scientifically. All I knew was God created the Heavens and the Earth. It was very intriguing learning the Theory and that it was only discovered in the early 1900s. The Bible already proved there was an absolute beginning, yet scientists needed more proof then the Bible...interesting. Sondra - Algonac, MI
Fr. Spitzer's slow building of the argument from science was great up to the point where the the dark matter, etc. came in. I've heard him before on EWTN Live and think there may be some way to make that transition a little clearer - at least for me. I think it will be a great introduction to high school students who are wobbly in their faith. I am combining it with Fr. Barron's "Reaching Out to Today's Culture" and Peter Kreeft's "Seven Reasons to Be Catholic" for some teens I know - in this order: Fr. Barron, Fr. Spitzer and Dr. Kreeft. Martha - Alpine, TX
Offers logical and insight into the interplay between the leading scientific theories of our universe and how they beg the question of intelligent creation. Fantastic lecture! K - Massillon , OH
